Case Study: Addressing Mental Health in the Asia Pacific Region

In 2010 the Industry Growth Group's International Centre for Industry Development (ICID) partnered with the world renowned Clifford Beers Foundation and embarked on a bold plan to address the stigma associated with mental illness in the Asia Pacific region by supporting mental health promotion and building awareness of the issue.

In doing so ICID and the Clifford Beers Foundation established the Asia Pacific Centre for Mental Health Promotion within the ICID Malaysia office in Sarawak Malaysia and is now working closely with mental health experts industry within the Asia Pacific to raise awareness of the need for mental health promotion.

As part of this initiative ICID bid for and secured the Clifford Beers Foundation Regional Conference on The Promotion of Mental Health 2011 for Malaysia.

ICID Continues to work tirelessly in aiding the development and awareness of mental health promotion within the Asia Pacific Region and is proud to manage the Asia Pacific Centre for Metal Health Promotion.
